I recently joined the world of crossbow owners. Ive been wanting one for
a long time but never had the time to bow hunt during our archery season
due to other obligations. I recently discovered west tennessee's hidden
wma secret in a town home to trophy deer. However this land is archery
only so here I am. Ive already received help from this community so thanks
to everyone for being so helpful. If anyone has any tips or advise, please
feel free to share with me.

pick a crossbow that fits your budget, but also has enough draw weight to meet hunting requirements in your state(s); buy yours early enough to practice with it and acclimate to the loud noise when the bolt leaves the string; use a rope assist cocking device to keep even tension on both sides of the string; whatever aiming device (peep-n-pins, red dot scope, optical magnifying scope) you use...make sure your elevation and windage are dead-on; use quality bolts (carbon are more resilient in the long haul) and reset your aiming device to POA/POI of whatever broadheads you decide to use; realize now that you are not going to gain much range over a vertical compound bow...crossbows are NOT rifles and shots you take should fall within the same range that you would hunt in with a vertical compound bow; mind your P's & Q's (do not trespass on private land; observe hunting regulations; offer the same courtesy to others that you expect to be given to you; et al)
